Details: Dr. Del Barrio, Las Villas, Cuba 1873-1944. An attorney at age 21 from University of  Havana. In 1888 started painting oils & watercolors at “Academia San Alejandro”. In 1904 married Ms. Emelina Justiz y del Valle. A landscape painter & a follower of Maestro “Valentin Sanz”. Del Barrio during first exposition August 1899 in Atlanta, Ga., wins two medals for his oils work “The Spanish Girl” & “Decided Husband”. During (1916/1917  thrum 1920 to 1932) exposing in California during  those years. In 1961/1962 the whole collection of oils & watercolors of Del Barrio was removed & stolen from his residence at Havana, Cuba. The removal was done by Mrs. Haydee Santa Maria. Director “Casa de las Americas” member of the Communist party & wife of Mr. Armando Hart, Cuban Minister of Education. Some masterpieces are in the Private Collection of Charles H.
